Pale green colour.
Subtle aromas of lime and lemon plus some of the mineral / slate-like aromas we typically see in the wines from this vineyard. Maybe a hint of fennel seed too.
The palate is crisp and bright with layers of fine citrus fruit, mineral and talc – like textures. The wine is quite lean and tightly wound on the palate at the moment, but this is tempered somewhat by quality fruit and the small amount of residual sweetness we have retained in this wine.
A little reserved at first, as is normal with this wine, but given a little time in the glass it begins to reveal its true colours. A worthy follow up to the lovely wines we have produced from this vineyard so far. While undoubtedly a good drink now, it will repay those who can cellar for 7-10 years plus.
