“Learnings” Watervale Riesling 2025

Pale green in colour.

Subtle, fresh aromas in the citrus spectrum overlay secondary aromas of feijoa and talc. Throw in some fresh cut apple for good measure and you have the aroma profile of this lovely young Watervale Riesling pegged out.

The palate is crisp and dry, displaying good concentration of the fruits mentioned above. It finishes with a nice acid flourish and a touch of a pithy, phenolic grip typical of a warmer year which adds some length and body to the wine.

Whilst nice drinking upon release, as always a little time in bottle will see the wine flesh out a little and soften. In some ways it reminds me of some of the wines made in the 2007 vintage. Enjoy now or keep for 5 to 7+ years.
